Residential
Informational Video. How it Works.
Water leaks are one of the leading causes of homeowners' insurance claims.
According to the Insurance institute, water damage from non-weather events are the fastest
growing area of risk both in frquency and cost. These events can be plumbing leaks,
appliance failures, maintenance issues, or even human error. Oftentimes they begin at your
washing machine, water heater, toilets, sewer/sump pump, refrigerator, dishwasher, sinks, showers, HVAC system, and (more insidiously) when pipes start leaking in the walls.
This makes water damage something most homeowners will experience in their lifetime.
Stopping the flow of water immediately
is the key to minimizing the extent of the damage.
Our AKWA Technologies system does this for you automatically 24/7/365 whether you are at home or not, minimizing the damage caused
and in many cases preventing the disaster that would follow.
Some Residential Installations
Time is Money!
Once a leak begins, time works against you. The longer water continues
to run into your home/building the more damage it causes, the more costly
the cleanup and the longer the process of remediation.
The AKWA Technologies water leak detection with automatic water shutoff capability is a preferred method of proactively addressing the inevitable water leak event.
The system is comprised of several components that work together to maximize coverage. They include a stainless steel quick connect valve with master valve actuator, different wireless sensors (depending on the application - such as under an dishwasher, on an A/C handler, in the water heater pan, etc) a local remote control, and a controller
that communicates with the sensors and valve and sends you notifications.
When a leak is detected, the controller is notified which immediately instructs the valve actuator to shut off the water supply. At the same time, a notification is sent via text and/or email to the homeowner (interested parties) alerting them that an event occurred & the water is off. The alert identifies the specific location of the event
(ie. master bathroom right sink) to facillitate locating and resolving the issue.
Once the incident is fixed (leak resolved, area dried out, it is a simple matter to reset the system and turn the water back on (the touch of a button).
